    Geometry
Homework is a means to practice and reinforce concepts that were discussed in class that day as well as to review previous topics. Students have permission to discuss homework unless informed otherwise in class when the assignment is given. (This is because occasionally assignments are turned in to be graded.) It is a violation of the Honor Code to copy homework. Students should not just give an answer but also show the method that was used to arrive at each answer. This allows students to understand any mistakes when homework is discussed in class the following day. Homework is checked daily for completeness and represents 20% of the final grade.  Work must be shown in order t receive credit for the assignment.  By showing a correct method I can quickly see if a student fully understands the objective. This allows me to know the strengths and weaknesses of each student before the test.

Homework is collected periodically and graded on accuracy as well as effort. Questions on homework are addressed at the beginning of each class period. Students are also encouraged to see the instructor during breaks as well as before and after school for extra help. Students are allowed to work together on homework – they are not allowed to copy homework! Often, graded worksheets will be assigned.  Students are expected to do their own work but they are allowed to use the instructor as a resource in addition to their notes and textbooks. Any other source is a violation of the Honor Code and will be treated as such. Late assignments are not accepted and earn a grade of zero.
